2003. These were the results after the first year
that the trustees had started working with the garden. This photo shows
the improvement over the mostly barren space, even though previously the
building had employed its own “gardener.”
During this year, one of the trustees had donated the
plants in the front area and had moved the ground cover around to create
this photo, which showed a great improvement over what had been there,
which was very little.

2006. Note the lush
front gardens, plus the foundation plantings, which not only added colour,
but created a mature welcoming feature to the building. A lot of hard work
and planning has really paid off, with virtually no extra charge to the
owners.
Plants were divided and rooted and then multiplied. All
of this was accomplished with so little money but with constant effort and
the voluntary assistance of the security guards in helping to water.

2003 The Lewin-Sher Garden This garden was
created in the side area to honour the service of "Tilly" Lewin and "Izzy
Sher" who had served as the Treasurer and Chairman of Knightsbridge
Mansions for decades. It is a fitting memorial garden for two people
who had worked so tirelessly to maintain Knightsbridge for so many years. |
2007 The Lewin-Sher Garden In four years the
garden had grown and new plantings had been added to add to the splendor.
The flowering Hibiscus and white roses add a beautiful touch to the corner
of the building. |
